Vanitas takes its name from both the book of Ecclesiastes and the European tradition of still life painting. Performances push and pull through entirely acoustic spaces sometimes incorporating aspects of everyday life such as cellphones, hourglasses, prerecorded material, and digital refuse. In our own personal way we seek hold up a musical mirror for contemplation.
